How do loyalty points show on Shopify product and cart pages?
One widget sits on the product page and another in the cart, and both work out the figure from your own earning rules.
Product page
How does the product page show what a shopper will earn?
Cosmo adds a small widget to your product page with a line like "Earn 50 Points with this purchase". The figure comes from your own earning rules, includes any bonus on that product or its collections, and updates when the shopper picks a different variant.

Yes. Cosmo adds a line to your cart drawer and cart page showing what the cart will earn, and it updates as shoppers change quantities. If your order rule has a minimum and the cart is under it, the line turns into a nudge like "Add $20 more to earn 50 Points".

What do shoppers who aren't signed in see?
They see the same line with the standard amount, plus a Sign in to start earning link. Signed-in members see the amount at their VIP multiplier instead, along with the tier it comes from. Showing visitors the figure tells them what an account is worth while they're still deciding to buy.
Can I change how loyalty points look on product pages?
Yes. The product page, cart drawer and cart page each have their own settings in Shopify admin, with a preview beside them. Pick a card, an inline line or a pill, align it left, centre or right, and show or hide the small gift icon. The widget's accent colour comes from your rewards launcher, so the two always match.
Does the cart line include every bonus?
No. The cart line counts order points and product bonuses, but not collection bonuses, because Shopify's cart data doesn't say which collections a product belongs to and Cosmo won't guess. The product page does include them. Neither one counts a first-order bonus, so an order can earn more than the line shows.
What if the points line doesn't show in my cart?
You can tell Cosmo where to put it. The cart widgets look for the usual cart markup on their own, including in Shopify's Dawn and Horizon themes. If your theme builds its cart differently, add one CSS selector in the widget's settings and the line appears right after that element.
Do these widgets work if I run the program on store credit?
Yes. If you run Cosmo's program on store credit, the product page and cart show the store credit a purchase will earn instead of points. The rest works the same way: the figure comes from your earning rules, and the cart still shows how much more to add to reach a minimum.
Do I need to edit my theme code?
No. Setup runs through a 4-step guided flow inside Shopify admin, and the customer account page is published from there. The loyalty program's product-page rewards widget is added as a block in the theme editor. No developer is required and no theme files are edited.
