How it works

How do you customize the customer account with Cosmo?

Everything below is set in Cosmo's editor in Shopify admin: how the account looks, which tabs it has, and what sits on its dashboard.

Branding

Can the Shopify customer account page match your store's design?

Yes. In Cosmo's editor in Shopify admin you set the account page's colours, button colours, text and heading sizes, heading weight, spacing and corner radius, and add your logo above the account menu. The account uses your theme's font, so it reads like the rest of your store, and a live preview shows each change.

In the editor

  • Page, card, text, border and accent colours
  • Primary and secondary button colours
  • Text sizes, heading weight, line height and letter spacing
  • Corner radius, card padding and section spacing
  • Sidebar colours and your logo
  • Reset to the default design at any time

Tabs

Can you rename, reorder or hide the account tabs?

Yes. Cosmo's account opens with four built-in tabs: For you, My profile, Orders and Addresses. You can rename any of them, drag them into the order you want and switch off the ones your store doesn't need. Built-in tabs can't be deleted, so a tab you switch off can be turned back on later.

  • Rename any tab
  • Drag tabs into your own order
  • Switch a tab off without deleting it

Your own tabs

Can you add your own pages to the Shopify customer account?

Yes. Add a tab that shows one of your Shopify store pages, such as a size guide or FAQ, and Cosmo loads that page's content inside the account. Or add a link tab: it opens in a new browser tab, or inside the account layout, with the menu still beside it, when its URL ends in ?show=account.

  • A store page shown inside the account
  • A link to any URL
  • Links that open inside the account layout
  • Another app's page, kept inside the account

Dashboard

What else can you add to the account dashboard?

Cosmo adds three kinds of block to the For you dashboard: an announcement bar at the top, an image banner, and a product block. The product block shows Shopify's recommendations based on what the customer last bought or viewed, products you pick, or a collection. Each block can be switched off without deleting it.

  • Announcement bar, with an optional button
  • Announcement bars customers can close
  • Image banner with heading, text and button
  • Recommended, picked or collection products
  • Switch any block off without deleting it

FAQ

Questions about customizing the Shopify customer account

Anything else? Email info@cosmoinfotech.com and it goes straight to the developer.

Can I customize the Shopify customer account page?

Yes. Cosmo replaces Shopify's default account page with one you design in Cosmo's editor in Shopify admin. You choose its colours, type sizes and layout, rename, reorder or hide its tabs, add your own pages as tabs, and add announcement bars, image banners and product blocks to the dashboard, with a live preview as you go.

Which font does the customer account page use?

Your theme's font. Cosmo has no separate font setting, so the account page uses the same typeface as the rest of your store. In Cosmo's editor you set the text and heading sizes, the heading weight, the line height and the letter spacing on top of it.

Can I remove the default tabs from the account page?

You can switch them off. Cosmo's four built-in tabs, For you, My profile, Orders and Addresses, can be renamed, reordered or switched off, but not deleted, so turning one back on later restores it as it was. Tabs you add yourself can be switched off or deleted.

Can another app's page open inside the customer account?

Yes. Add a link tab in Cosmo that points to the other app's page and ends the URL with ?show=account. When a customer opens that tab, the page appears inside the account layout with the menu still beside it, instead of on a separate page. Links without ?show=account open in a new browser tab.

Can customers close an announcement bar on their account?

Only if you let them. Each announcement bar in Cosmo has a setting that lets customers dismiss it, and a bar a customer closes stays hidden for that customer. Leave the setting off and the bar shows on every visit until you switch it off or delete it.

Do I need to edit my theme code?

No. Setup runs through a 4-step guided flow inside Shopify admin, and the customer account page is published from there. The loyalty program's product-page rewards widget is added as a block in the theme editor. No developer is required and no theme files are edited.
