Give customers a Shopify order tracking page with Cosmo

Cosmo puts each order's tracking on the Shopify customer account page. Customers see the carrier, the tracking number and where the parcel is, then follow it in one click. "Where is my order?" is answered the moment they log in, before they think to email you.

How it works

How does the Shopify order tracking page work in Cosmo?

When you fulfil an order in Shopify and add a tracking number, Cosmo shows that shipment on the customer's account page. Here's what they see.

For customers

What do customers see when they track an order?

Every shipped order in Cosmo's account gets a tracking banner, read from the fulfilment in Shopify. It shows the carrier and tracking number, which items are in the parcel and the shipment's status, such as In transit or Delivered. One click on Track package opens the carrier's tracking page.

On every shipped order

  • Carrier and tracking number
  • Status: in transit, out for delivery, delivered
  • Expected delivery date, when there is one
  • Which items are in each parcel
  • A separate banner for each parcel in a split order
  • Track package opens the carrier's tracking page

Delayed or failed deliveries stand out in a warning colour

FAQ

Questions about Shopify order tracking

Can customers track their Shopify orders from their account?

Yes. With Cosmo, every order that has shipped with a tracking number shows a tracking banner on the customer's account page, with the carrier, the tracking number, the delivery status and a Track package button. Customers open their orders and see where each parcel is, without hunting for the shipping email.

Do I need a tracking app to show order tracking?

No. Cosmo reads the carrier, tracking number and status Shopify already keeps on each fulfilment, so the tracking details you add when you fulfil an order are enough. If you also use a tracking app Cosmo works with, you can connect it from the Integrations page and it appears as its own tab on the account page.

What if an order ships in more than one parcel?

Each parcel gets its own tracking banner, with its own carrier, tracking number and Track package button. Cosmo also says what each parcel carries, either all items or, for example, 2 of 3 items, so customers know whether the rest of their order is still on its way.

Where does the Track package button take customers?

To the carrier's tracking page for that parcel, opened in a new tab, using the tracking link saved on the fulfilment in Shopify. If a shipment has no tracking link, Cosmo opens the order's Shopify status page instead, so the button always leads somewhere useful.

Which order tracking services does it read from?

Cosmo pulls live tracking from AfterShip, 17TRACK and Track123 into the branded account page, so an order's current status is already where the shopper looks first. Those are the tracking services it reads from — it is not a claim that every carrier is covered, so if yours is not on that list, email info@cosmoinfotech.com before you rely on it.

Do I need to edit my theme code?

No. Setup runs through a 4-step guided flow inside Shopify admin, and the customer account page is published from there. The loyalty program's product-page rewards widget is added as a block in the theme editor. No developer is required and no theme files are edited.
